Ohio Air Products

Ohio Air Products of Canton was founded in 1953 by William Oliver Wolfenden. Before this, his father, John Thomas Wolfenden, owned and operated a branch of the company in Cleveland, Ohio which has been in business for more than 80 years.

William Oliver moved from Cleveland to Canton in order to continue the work of his father, and create the Canton location. At the time, he was married to Jane Ellsworth who eventually had four children. William Arthur was born in 1954, who would later inherit the family business.

Our company has had many renovations since the first building was acquired. Multiple store locations were also added in 1994, such as the locations in New Philadelphia and Alliance.

Ohio Air Products has been operating for more than 60 years, as we are now a third generation company serving a multi-county area. We strive to meet the industrial, safety, medical, farming, automotive, and specialty gas and helium needs. In 2002, the beverage gas service was added to expand the customer base to restaurants with bulk carbon dioxide tanks. At our Canton location, we have four salesmen who offer personal service by catering to our customer's needs on a daily basis. Ohio Air Products has a fleet of five trucks that are used regularly to deliver welding, gases, and safety supplies to our customers such as The Timken Company, United Foundries, Union Metal, Belden Brick, as well as many other accounts.

We are also a part of a nationwide cooperative known as the IWDC (Independent Welding Distributors Cooperative), with over 135 members, who work to give the small business owner a more competitive edge against larger corporations through their buying power capabilities.
